SHABBY FLOWERS

I have just completed some shabby flowers.
These flowers are for a swap at Kindred Souls Art Group.

You know me, I can't create much without getting out a scrap piece of burlap or some vintage lace and trims.

I really enjoyed making these.
Easy peasy...

I LOVE VINTAGE GREETING CARDS

I so love vintage greeting cards.
Not only are they wonderful to look at, they are wonderful to create with.
This is a tag I created using a vintage birthday card front.
I cut the card down to size, took out my colored pencils and glitter and went to work.
I do love how this one came out.

MY FIRST LAYOUT USING PACKAGING

Here is my first layout using packaging.
Packaging what the heck you are probably asking....
At Flying Unicorn back on Saturday May 4th I joined in on National Scrapbook Day where many from the forum got together and got our mojo's on with challenges, games, contests and such.
This challenge was to use three packaging items and something made of wood.

The packaging items I used was a bubble shipping envelope, a Lundt candy package, the K&Company piece from card stock scrapbook paper pack and a cardboard coffee cup sleeve (you can see these items peeking thru if you were to look at it in person).
I laid down my packaging items on a piece of cardboard and covered with mod podge mixed with blue and green paints and blue and green glitter.  I allowed myself to just brushed it all over,  some areas thicker than others.   My thoughts were to not  worry myself to much about this part of the process, but to just do it as the instructions said.

I have two wooden items the bird house and a paint brush with a wooden handle.
I really did get carried away embellishing for I ended up covering up most of my packaging items.
I do love to embellish

I would probably do this paint goop thing again though.

I do like how this turned out.  I am not in the future going to have a need to use any packaging again in my work, at least I don't think so, but it was a fun and different experience.
We should be willing to try different things don't you think?

CROWS

I have some crows around!
I do love birds however, I have mixed feelings about these guys....

Don't mind that they are not the clearest of photos, these are taken from my dining room window.
These crows spot the smallest of movements and the tiniest of noises make them skittish and they will fly away.

These birds are pretty aggressive and don't like some types of birds around.
Underneath this tree limb is my bird feeders and they keep a pretty good eye on it during the morning hours.
I do think one can set their clock by the birds, they have the same habits every day.

This one here is a loud mouth, see him cackling away?
They do make the strangest noises.

I know these crows like to get after the robin nests and the eggs in them but what am I to do?
Does anyone else have a problem with these birds and if so what do you do to keep them away if anything?

DRIED MINI ROSES

I do love me some dried mini roses.
I purchased this very large bouquet on clearance for $5.00 several days ago.
I have the best luck drying the mini roses.  I do not think the large roses dry very good, not before they seem to get mold on them.

I do love the small roses because I get to use them in my art work.

I have just finished up some stick pins for a swap and I used some of my yellow mini roses for that.

I just love all the buds here that didn't bloom, those will be so nice to work with don't you think?

Besides getting to use them when they are dried out,  I also get to enjoy them around the house in my little antique bottles, a little bit here and a little bit there.

BOUQUET OF FLOWERS

This tag I am calling a Bouquet of Flowers.

I used one of my images from my Harper Magazine of 1856.
I have made other tags using Harper Magazine images, you can see those here and here
I love creating with these images, not only are they 157 years old they make such a nice backdrop for a collage.

WEDDING SEASON

The wedding season is fast approaching.  Well now, actually the summer months is not just the wedding season anymore I guess.  I notice there are a lot of fall weddings now, that would be the time of year I would have a wedding if I were a new bride.
This is a copy of a large photograph of a very antique looking bride, look at that bouquet of flowers will you....
I will get around to making a collage with this photo, stay tuned for that.

I have a small collection of vintage wedding and shower vintage greeting cards, I just love these cards.
The silver on this card is glitter actually.  I don't give these little gems up very easily.

I love the soft colors.
This one here is a money holder.

A cute little shower card, precious indeed.

Do you collect vintage wedding and shower cards??
Thanks for stopping by.

MORE FAIRIES AND FLOWERS

I am creating fairy tags again.
These fairy and flower tags are for a swap over at Roses On My Table.
I made fairy tags several weeks back for a different swap you can see those here.

I have had these fairy cards for quite sometime and I do admit they are precious and they have come in handy indeed.
The little wooden letter beads I found at JoAnn's, they were beige colored so I dyed them purple, red and burgundy.  I love how they came out

I love creating tags, gives me a chance to use up all those tiny pieces.

STICK PINS, KINDA ADDICTING

I have been busy creating some stick pins.
This is the first time I have tried my hand at this, kinda addicting you know!
I started off with something like the second one down on the right.
If you know my style, you can see I just could not stick to beads and stones and such.

I just had to get out my scrap pieces of vintage lace and trims, oh and the burlap of course.

I do love the way these turned out.
I have joined a stick pin swap over at the Flying Unicorn for this group I will be sending three stick pins to four different gals or guys maybe!
I also will be sending off three to another gal in the Altered Paper group.

This pin here on the top of the picture is a dried rose.
I really like using a flower of some sort of the top.
I could possibly make these all day long.
I think they would make nice wedding corsage items and such, do you?

Thanks for stopping by.

STICK PIN DRESSES

Using dress from cutouts and stick pins I created these dresses for a swap at Altered Papers group.

I sent my partner an envelope with goodies but forgot to take a picture of it.
