MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

IF THERE IS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE HEART,
THERE WILL BE BEAUTY IN THE CHARACTER.
IF THERE IS BEAUTY IN THE CHARACTER,
THERE WILL BE HARMONY IN THE HOME.
IF THERE IS HARMONY IN THE HOME,
THERE WILL BE ORDER IN THE NATION.
IF THERE IS ORDER IN THE NATION,
THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE WORLD.
SO LET IT BE
SCOTTISH BLESSING
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

ROCKING HORSE

Three Christmas tags I created for a swap at Blissful Art Group.
I love the vintage image, so sweet.

Do you make your own holiday tags?
If not, you should give it a try, print some images from the internet, use bits and pieces of things you have.  Go ahead,  make a creation of your own to decorate a package for a loved one.

BLUE SKIES AND GEESE

We live on the shore of Lake Champlain approx. 8 miles from the Canadian border.
This time every year the skies are full of geese coming and going, and the noise is music to the ears.
The snow geese are white with black tipped wings and the Canadian geese are black and grey with a little bit of white.

Canadian geese

Canadian geese and snow geese rest in the same fields sometimes.

Snow geese, these are so beautiful.

Amazing

HOLIDAY BUNTINGS

I really love used greeting cards , I think there is a ton of beautiful paper to be used in many different ways.
In the past I have created package tags, bookmarks, altered tags as gifts and swapping, and now buntings.
These six buntings are for a swap with Kindred Souls Art group.

I specially like this one!

I love the silver, blue and gold hues to these two cards.  The cards do have some soft glitter on them, in the lights of the church and ice on the trees, they are stunning indeed.
I painted the crocheted snowflakes with silver glitter and also the acorns.

This is a collage I created for our Kindred Souls group leader, she will be swapping out all the buntings (six players) and string with ribbons for us and send back.
This is another greeting card adhered to an antique book cover.  I love how this turned out.  I think I will be making a few more for holiday gifts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

LIL O'S FIRST BOAT RIDE

Several weeks ago we took our Lil O out on her first boat ride.
It was a beautiful fall day with calm waters on Lake Champlain.
Here she is getting her first lesson on driving Papa's boat.

She was just so amazed at all the bells and whistles (Papa's boat is actually a fishing charter boat)

We made it a family trip.
Lil O is probably wondering, what are you people doing, we are driving the boat here!

We had a wonderful boat ride and look forward to many more.

ON MY WORK TABLE

I have some new items on my work table.
I will keep you updated on my plans for the Styrofoam balls.....

I love the tissue paper that JoAnn's has for sale.   I think this has been at least the 3rd year they have carried this, right up my alley for sure.

These I found at my local grocery store, thought I would use them as a tag base, size is pretty close.
I will be making up three Christmas tags to swap soon.

What is on your work table?
Thanks for stopping by.

FALL IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

I so do love the fall season.  I love the apples, pumpkins, cider, donuts (of course the donuts) the beautiful colors of the leaves and the cooler temperatures.  I love the idea of a cozy home, one that is full of harvest smelling candles and the idea of comfy clothes and soft blankets on the couch.
I wanted to share with you some fall photos I took.

ROSES OF COURAGE

In honor of breast cancer awareness I joined in on a swap at Altered Paper Swaps "Roses of Courage".
I purchased a doily quite awhile back, it had several of these roses on it.    Using these roses to create three pink roses for the swap I got right to work.

Using pink and purple paints and glitter paints I managed to turn these plain white roses into the following;

I used some of my mini dried roses, a pink pearl and some organza ribbons along with some twine to complete the flower.
These roses are on their way to Canada.
