I'VE DECIDED

  1. I have decided that I like fresh flowers around so much that I will purchase some weekly.

I also like to take the mini roses and dry them out so I can use them in some of my art projects, so second reason to do this.

One tiny single rose in an antique bottle on my kitchen sink window sill, this is happiness ;)
Do you have fresh cut flowers in your home on a regular basis?

HALLOWS EVE CABINET CARD

"All Hallows Eve" altered cabinet card for a swap at BlissfulARTswap group
I dare say;  I am addicted to altering these cabinet cards.
I made one for my Figgy (Halloween is her favorite holiday next to Christmas) I will post that one later on in the week so stay tuned.

I have just starting using some other colors that I don't usually use in my work.

A blue jay feather in the side here.

Have you altered any cabinet cards lately, you should give it a try,  it is soooo much fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

A HALLOWEEN TOP HAT

I purchased a top hat from Michael's, this is what I created with it.

The two little children is a copy of a cabinet card I have, it is of two family members but the few people I have asked don't know who they are.
I love using this image and have used it many times in my creations.
The buttons are actually a button garland.

I love creating Halloween items.
Fall is coming, it is my favorite time of year.

HALLOWEEN BUG

I've been bitten by the Halloween bug already.
While in town a few days ago I purchased a few things in preparation for a few Halloween swaps I have signed up for.
I love to throw in other little treasures to the box that has the swap item, specially if it is a holiday.
All of the items here I purchased at Michael's
While searching for more items in my stash of goodies I couldn't help but create something.

Using pieces from my "shabby burlap snippet rolls" you can see that post here.
I created this collage.

I have re-found some old newspapers that I just love using lately.
An advertisement for some dresses, who wouldn't want to pay 2.98 for a dress?

The bird is actually a napkin.  I used a piece of snippet again on this one.

OUR SUMMER YARD

A few quick pictures to share of our summer yard.
A bird is busy with it's mate.  Notice the nest is almost breaking the front wall off the house.
I do love galvanized buckets and watering cans.
A plant that greets you when you come up the stairs.
I love to put solar lights in pots, just a different place to put them.  The solar lights light the way instead of the big flood light.
Do you notice the old doorknob?

House plants just love it outside in the summer months.

My collection of galvanized watering cans, don't you just love them...
The owl is actually fireplace wood holders, don't know the real name for them.

Thanks for stopping by my yard.

A HOUSE FIT FOR A FAIRY

Here is a house fit for any fairy.
I created this house for a swap partner over at Blissfullartgroup

Using a small wooden bird house purchased at JoAnn's Fabric for $1.
You can't see the house very well through all of the fairy's feathers and the pot of flowers in front of the house.
After all,  fairies do conceal their houses as best they can!!

Again I used some of my Shabby Burlap Snippet Rolls to cover the roof, you can see more on my shabby snippet rolls here

A bird sits on top of the house.
I used dried leaves, dried purple floral and some birch tree branches just to name a few things.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have you ever created a fairy house??

ALTERED CABINET CARD

I've been creating again.
I have altered a cabinet card for a swap partner over at BlissfullartSwaps

I used some of my Shabby Burlap Snippet Rolls, you can see that post here

This is a large cabinet card approx. 8" long.  I included some twine rope for hanging.
The wanted article is from an old newspaper 1929.

An antique watch on a large safety pin, dried leaves, tiny pine cones and two fantastic feathers.

Altering cabinet cards can be very addicting.

MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM

It is time for a "Midsummer Nights Dream" by Shakespeare.
At least this is my take on the subject.
My matchbox swap for my partner, Mina.
Using a few dried baby pink roses from my granddaughters blessing, other dried floral items and a few birch tree branches I tried to create an outdoor/woods, romantic feel.

For this tag I used a vintage hanky, a page from a book, vintage trims, a vintage grudged white glove, more branches and a poem.

I included a ribbon for hanging.

I have the best time swapping with this group on flicker, Vintage Dragonfly Matchbox Swap Group.
Head on over to take a look for yourself, maybe you would be interested, too.
Thanks for stopping by today.
