THE BIRDS ARE BUSY

The birds are busy here this time of year. I've been watching a Robin trying to make her nest over a light fixture on the garage. She has been attempting for over a week now, I think she has finally finished. I would take a picture but I can't get to it that well.
The crows/ravens we have around here are very large.
Can you guess what kind of baby bird this is?
I will tell you at end of post.
Beautiful morning dove.
If I were a bird I would probably visit this large motel.
These are two woodpeckers. I have had this photograph for a few years now. I took this picture, framed it and had it in our bedroom for quite a few months. One day I discovered there are two birds in this picture. I was delighted to say the least. I believe he is flirting with her...
BEAUTIFUL nest.
This Robin is busy making her nest. She has found some blue twine that we use to tie up limbs that may break during the winter months. The birds have been using this blue twine for many years now.
Another black bird. These birds have the keenest hearing, it is very difficult to get pictures of them.
I love, love to decorate my home with birds, bird nests and ducks. This wooden duck is actually a Loon. Notice the bird house?? I love to tuck little resin birds into things. I am linking up to the following parties today. You can find the links on the right side of my blog, just click on the button and it will take you right there. Go on over and visit a few you just may find some sort of fun inspiration there.
I THANK all hostess's.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THIS??

I picked up some items at a few antique shops while my friend was here visiting for a few days.
First I wanted to share the carrots I made using a tutorial from Clare's Craftroom blog, you can visit her here thanks for sharing Clare.
I gave some to my Figgy and one to my friend Barb.
I know we are all done with Easter but I would like to give credit to those that share tutorials with all of us.
Now on to the finds.
At a shop called Junk and Disorderly I found this vintage magazine. I love the advertisments in here. I am thinking of using some of the food ads in a brown paperbag mini /journaling/receipe album. I think these would make good backgrounds on the pages of the album.
What ideas do you have?
Did you notice this magazine cost 5 cents?? (not 5 cents when I bought it, but once it cost that much)
If you follow my blog you may remember the cheese box I purchased (see this post) that has the wheat grass in it.
I found at Creative Habitat a package of this wheat grass to grow some of my own.
I plan on putting together one of the vintage picnic baskets I received for Christmas using some of this grass. Stay tuned for that.
What other ideas do you have for some of this wheat grass??
I found these fantastic vintage patterns. I just love the images on the fronts.
I think I may make a vintage inspired album using these images as background paper and tag making.
What ideas do you have for me??
I found this vintage dish towel. I am thinking of making a purse/bag out of this.
The back side I may use red burlap.
Do you think it would be strange to carry around a vintage dish towel calendar as a bag?? I love vintage dish towels.
I found this dress at the junk store. I thought the material was pretty. I tore apart the dress and ripped strips of material. I put into the washer and dryer to make the strips all distressed. I plan on stamping on the strips. Any other ideas?? Here is an advertisment from the magazine.
Well, that is all of my finds for this time.
I would love to hear any other ideas you may have for projects using my new treasures.
I am linking up to the following linky parties this week. Be sure to go on over and visit a few, lots of inspiration out there.
I thank all hostess's for hosting.

COUNTRY ADVERTISING TREASURES

I thought I would share with you some of my country/vintage/antique advertising treasures.
Most of my milk bottles I have purchased at our local auction house. This chalk borad creemee advertisment I purchased at a yard sale for $5.00, yup five dollars.
This is one of my most favorite finds, ever! This tin I found in my father in law's basement. These coffee burlap sacks I have found at different flea markets, love these. This sign is from a box, someone took this off the box and then framed it.
My vintage peanut butter tin I found at a yard sale for free. The man said "you can just have that".
Thanks mister yard sale man!!
This is an antique receipe box I purchased at the auction. The box still had receipes in it.
I collaged a bunch of advertisments on it from a 1929 Good Housekeeping magazine.
I forget where I got this ice cream carton. Cute hah?
An old box. I love old boxes..
Vintage Quaker Oats round box.
My friend is visiting from New York state. The other day we took a road trip to Middlebury Vermont. We visited a bunch of wonderful little shops.
This little advertising box with wheat grass and a sweet little bird nest I purchased, I thought this was so darling.
Yesterday we were out exploring again. I found some of this wheat grass. I will be making up some different containers using the same concept as this little box.I hope you have enjoyed my advertising treasures.
I have linked up to the following parties and would like to thank all hostess's in advance.
Take a stroll around them, you just may find something that inspires you.

READY FOR PETER

I have done a little Easter decorating today.
I thought I would share with you my goodies I put out.
This is my big bird nest made from two large vine wreaths, filled with moss and such.
I decorate this nest nearly every holiday, so much fun!Look at this adorable little bunny, isn't he just darling.
He looks like he is ready to pounce right out of there!!
This is a vintage wind up egg. I have had this egg for many years.
I purchased it at a yard sale. If I remember correctly I only paid a few dollars for it. Must be so, I don't spend much at yard sales on any one item.
In the nest is two spindles with grey wool. These always stay in the nest.
The carrots are plastic, I don't remember where I got these..
These are wooden tulips.
I purchased this bunny at JoAnn's many, many years ago.
I remember going back to the store many times after Easter waiting for it to go on clearance, finally it did for 75% off.
I love a clearance sale.
These are some little bird nests I made.
Using little vine wreaths; I tied on and weaved thru the vine all sorts of vintage lace and trims.
You can find these two in my Etsy Shop
I also created an Easter brown paperbag mini photo/journaling album the other day. If you would like to see that post you can go here
Here he is again just hanging out in the kitchen. I don't have a whole lot of Easter decorations, sometimes less is more.
I hope you have been in the mood to put out some of your spring items and spring type weather is headed your way.
I have linked up to the following parties, hop on over and have a look at some of the blogs, you just may find something that really inspires you.

I have not posted in awhile, we have been on vacation visiting family in Nevada.
We also visited Arizona and California, beautiful sights and wonderful times with family.I will post more on our trip soon. My winnings from One World One Heart event finally came from across the pond.
This lovely little pocket holder came from Barbara at Vintage Bunty
The handmade pocket is filled with beautiful lace, buttons and trims.
Thanks Barbara!
I joined in on a matchbox swap a few weeks ago. This is my box from my swap partner Trisha from American Honey Home
When I opened the box the first thing I saw was this sweet little nest with the eggs, I love nests.
Inside the box is so many special little trinkets, easter eggs, lace, ribbons, buttons, vintage playing cards, silk flowers, etc.
A beautiful vintage cloth measuring tape, love it!
Trisha lined the box with sewing pattern tissue, fun!
I got so excited to get Trisha's box in the mail to her I forgot to take pictures of her box.
This is the box I made for our host of the matchbox swap Laura. You can find Laura at Decor to Adore
This is the box I received from Laura as a thank you for joining in on the swap. I specially love this bunny on the top.
Thanks Laura!
