ALTERED CLIP BOARD

This is a vintage large size clipboard I altered for my dear friend Kelly.
We planned a swap together, Christmas theme..
Kelly loves vintage and pink so this is what I came up with.
I was a little unsure if I could pull the pink off for Christmas but I think it worked out quite well actually.

PUZZLE PIECE

Lately I have attempted a few projects that I have not done in the past.
This puzzle piece goes out to a swap partner at Altered Egos.
This was an ok project however, I really did not enjoy covering the puzzle pieces.
I modge podge gold tissue paper onto the puzzle pieces, not the easiest thing to do.
Thanks for stopping by.

BURLAP ROSES AND DRIED FLOWERS

Good morning to you.
I wanted to share with you a few of my burlap roses.
We have a plant (don't know the name of it) that flowers like this later on in the summer months.
More toward fall, the flowers change color to this rose pink color.
I thought the burlap roses would look good with these dried flowers.
My Figgy and I created these roses together for our summer family & friends party.
You can see that post here.
You know I love bringing the outdoors in, besides that "it's free".

HALLOWEEN SWAP GOODIES

Several weeks ago I contacted two swap partners from the past and asked if they would be interested in a one on one swap, they both agreed.
You can see what I made for my swap partners here
Kelly and I agreed to an altered antique book cover, Halloween theme of course.  I love how Kelly used an antique cabinet card, I love that these cards are so easy to create "spooky" with.
This is what Kelly created for me.
You can visit my friend here

My swap partner Karla and I agreed on a book cover and a large tag using an image that Karla picked out for us.
Karla altered this book box for me, I just love it.
I do love owls, I am thinking she knows this about me....

This is the large tag Karla created using the image of the enchanting lady.
You can visit my friend here
I really enjoyed swapping with both of these ladies and plan to do more soon.
Thanks for stopping by.

HALLOWEEN CREATING

I finished up with my Halloween swaps for my two best swap buddies, Kelly and Karla
Kelly and I decided on an altered antique book cover with a stand, Halloween themed of course.
I just love how this turned out.

Karla and I also agreed on an altered antique book cover.
There is actually some pink in this, I was a little worried that it would not go well with the orange and other fall colors but it did, guess you never know until you try something.

Karla wanted to swap a large tag with this image she choose for the both of us to use.
My favorite Halloween colors to create with are black and pink, go figure.
Both of my gals have receive their packages, all is good.
Thanks for stopping by.

HALLOWEEN CREATING ON MY MIND

I have dragged my Halloween tote out, oh boy!
I thought I would share a few photos from the past.  Maybe I will inspire some of you to drag your goodies out as well.
The theme, Halloween and Christmas are the two holidays I really, really enjoy creating for.
I love the typical colors of fall,  my all time favorites.  I have also been know to go with some blues, purples and bright oranges, all is good.  I typically use antique images of people in my creations, makes it feel more spooky I guess.
Here is a Altoids tin.

I have created many pieces using these two little guys.
My sister in law, Lois gave me this photograph many years ago.   She believes they are family members from long ago but does not know which ones.  I have managed to ask a few of them and no one knows for sure.  Anyways, I love to include these two little guys in many items I create.
This is a tag that was sent to a swap partner.

Another tag.
I will be creating a few Halloween items for my dear friend, Karla. We have been planning a one on one swap together.  We will be creating a large tag using an image that Karla picked out.  We are also creating a 6 x 9 altered canvas of sorts made using an antique book cover that will sit in a picture holder.

BURLAP ROSES

My Figgy and I created these burlap roses for our hoedown barbeque party.
We think they came out pretty good.
I found a tutorial on You tube.
Just search on You tube "burlap roses" and you will find many tutorials.
I think I am going to grunge some of these up and possibly orange and black glitter, Halloween is right around the corner.  I think these would make nice gifts for those swaps I will be doing with special friends.

FANTASTIC FIND

I found this very large (approx.) 11 x 17 very old photograph.
I stopped by my pharmacy last week and near there was a few boxes (free).
I went on over to find this picture in a box.  I could not believe it, well I could for it has a rip, you can probably see that here.
I will be putting this in my craft room, so it doesn't matter to me about the tear.

Do you see the date?  I believe the year has to be 1892, don't believe it is 1992 ha, ha....
I was so pleased with my free find.
Have you found any free items lately?
Thanks for stopping by.

PRIMITIVE VIGNETTE

This is one of my primitive vignettes on the screen porch by the door.
The item that all of the goodies are in is a handmade dust pan.
This dust pan was created by my father in law, Jimmy.
It is made with a brass mailbox with a brass handle soldered to the mailbox, this swivels (I guess that is what it does) anyhow, this is the best I can describe the construction, genius...
It has a bunch of random things in it.
The brush, watering can piece and, antique hammer  was Jimmy's as well.
There is a horseshoe, a couple of wooden ice fishing jiggers, these belong to Mr. Nook.
I added a vine wreath and bird house and a button garland I made some years back.
Thanks for stopping by.

STICK PINS

In the past I have created stick pins and holders for some of them.
Most of these pins have gone to swap partners.
Have you tried creating these?
Well, if you do,  I want you to know they are very addicting and a blast to make.
Just like the snippet rolls it is a wonderful way to use up those tiny pieces of scrap.

If you do decide to create some of these, please do let me know I would like to take a look at your creations.
Thanks for stopping by.
