VINTAGE CHILDREN
A vintage journal to enter in Mixed Media Monday challenge. These are very vintage children, they are sisters actually. I know the children to be vintage for they are my mother and her sister. I made the journal using vintage wallpaper to cover the new journal, a copy of an image from my personal collection and cutouts of tiny little birds. The lace and trim is also vintage, (scraps from vintage wedding gowns). I LOVE vintage!!

SISTERHOOD
This journal is my One Powerful Hour Challenge, you can find other "SISTERHOOD" challenges here http://onepowerfulhour.blogspot.com/ be sure to stop by for other crafted items.
Sisterhood is a fantastic thing. The feelings of sisterhood are precious and must be kept close to the heart. Your sister can be your sister or course, or it can be your best friend. My best friend is my sister, and I can actually see these two women as us if we would have lived in this era. I love my sister (my bestfriend). Our sisterhood consists of 38 years of more than everything...
This is a journal that you can find here nookcannygifts.etsy.com

THIS IS WHAT I SEE
Here are a few things I see in my area, the place I call home. The Canadian Geese have arrived. They are everywhere. If you don't see them when you look up you can hear them...
Here is a flock flying over our house. We also hear them very late at night, in the dead of dark they are completing their journey.
Here is a flock of Snow Geese. These birds are getting ready to start their journey.

ROSES & BIRDS
Roses and birds were the inspiration for this journal. The image is of two children that my husband thinks are his brothers. They do look like family to me. I will send this post to one of them, we will see what happens. I will let you know the outcome later.
The journal is created with some of the following items; vintage lace stained with coffee, a yellow silk rose, stained with coffee with vintage lace and trims. The picture is framed out with an antique photograph mat. The rose is finished off with feathers and a domino piece. The background of the collage is vintage sheet music, stamped with keys, stars and the words "First Class Mail".
I enjoyed making this piece (journal) I have made other collaged items with this image, I love it!!!
The journal can be found in our etsy shop, here www.aclosetoftreasures.etsy.com

PETER RABBIT IS COMING SOON
The sun is shining and spring is in the air. I thought I might do a little spring decorating today.Peter Rabbit will be coming soon so I have created this Easter nest on his behalf.
I dug around this morning in my craft room and found three vine wreaths (actually I was thinking about putting into the yard sale pile) but I thought; wait a minute, I can use these as a birds nest. I dug around for some moss and other fun items and located my easter goodies and this is what I came up with.
I love bird nests, one never knows what you will find there. Birds are collectors of things, rope, plastic, feathers, paper etc. In this nest you will find pipberries and a couple of wooden spools of wool, pinecones and eggs of course.
I decorated my favorite item (my canoe) something has happened to my camera, as soon as I get that figured out I will share it with you.
When will you start your spring decorating??
Thanks for stopping by.
