Our Trip To A Pumpkin Festival

Minyele and I took a road trip to Keene NH to the Pumpkin Festival, pumpkin festival, I guess so! I have never seen so many carved pumpkins in one place in all of my life, AMAZING!! The pumpkins were on the grass, on the sidewalks, in the trees, on shelves.
Of hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins, I think this one was the winner! There were fun carvings, dark carvings, gross carvings, cartoon carvings, doctors, dancers, advertisments, wizard of oz and more.
Here is Minyele and Pumpkin Head Man. At first I thought this was just a stuffed scarecrow type person, until he moved, just in time to snap the picture. Pumpkin head man said something to Minyele, wonder what it was??
This was one of two very large staging areas where the pumpkins were all lined up, lit up once night time came. This was amazing!!
Here is Minyele in front of one.
This picture was from earlier in the day. These are the shelves I spoke of, these were everywhere.
Minyele decided she wanted to take a ride in the pumpkin wagon!!
We thought this photo would be fitting for our blog.
We had such a good time.

OUR TRIP TO THE ADIRONDAKS WITH FRIENDS

We went on our yearly leaf peeping trip with our friends John and Dale, yesterday. The day started off cold, wet and foggy. The fog finally burned off the higher elevation we went. Our trip this year was to the beautiful adirondak mountains. The foilage was in full glory up there, we couldn't of planned for a better day. This was a little roadside vegetable and fruit stand along side the road. We stopped here just in time to watch a train go by. This was a spot we stopped at to stretch our legs. Very wooded, isn't it?
This antique shop was in a small little town.
We stopped at Whiteface Mountain for an October Fest, Dale didn't want to pay $6.00 for a single beer though. Beautiful mountain side.
We ate pizza in Lake Placid, that was crowed as usual. Alot of other leaf peepers, too. We stopped at our favorite candy shop, we all got our own bags of candy, no sharing though.
The wildlife was incredable, no moose to be found this trip. One day I will get a pic of a moose!!
We left at 8:00 am and arrived home at 7:00 p.m. It was another fabulous trip with our friends.

COLLAGE ITEMS

The holidays are fast approaching. The air is crisp with a smell of fall. Here in Vermont the leaves are changing to their splendor. Alot of reds, bright red! I had fun yesterday making a few collage hangings. This one is called "THE THANKFUL SEASON" an image from an old Vermont callendar was the inspiration for this one. I also love using clippings from my collection of antique newspapers. Makes anything I make with it, feel like Ole Vermont. This collage is called "THANKSGIVING" check out the Native looking over things. I have had this image in my collection of ephemera for sometime now. I have used it several times, popular on a greeting card. This collage also has an antique advertisment. The image of the house and barn with the family members arriving for the family Thanksgiving meal was my inspiration for this piece.
Finally, this is a halloween collage called "LOVELY, LOVELY MOSS" (notice the moss dripping from the tree). Halloween is my daughter's favorite holiday, a close second to Christmas. I love to do Halloween collaging, it is sooo much fun.
These three collage items can be found in our ETSY shop, visit us there. http://nookcrannygifts.etsy.com/ don't forget to visit our supply store on etsy as well http://aclosetoftreasures.etsy.com/ there you may find some vintage/antique ephemera papergoods for your crafting inspirations.
