I do have to say, I love these little birds.
These chickadees have to be the most strong/hardy little bird around.
Is he not the cutest thing??

What is your favorite winter bird in your area?

VINTAGE WITH A SPLASH OF RUSTIC

I do love a good swap, guess I have probably mentioned this a few times!
Creative Wings was offering a swap of a matchbox filled with goodies to start off the new year, I just had to say yes...

My swap partner is Rhea from Starrgazer Creates
Just look at all this goodness she sent.

I so do love vintage and antique doilies and linens, must be Rhea had a visit to my blog!
Thanks Rhea once again.
The reasons I love a swap so much is all swap partners are so generous in giving.  I love to receive items that I can use in the items I create without going to the stores and most of the time these treasures are things you would not be able to find anyways.
Thanks for stopping by.
Valentines days is fast approaching, I am putting my thinking cap on, excited to get started on some pretties.

LOTS TO SHARE

We had some computer problems, Santa had to bring a new one...
I have a lot of blog catching up to do and some thank yous as well.
I joined in a Secret Santa Swap over at BlissArt Swap group awhile back.
Sorry I did not remember to take a picture of the one I created,  but I did take pics of the box that was sent to me.

While looking at some of my favorite blogs I came across a post that showed this box, right then I knew who my Secret Santa was, Marsha from Tattered Chic
Marsha and I have done some swapping in the past, she knows just what I love!!!

Marsha is so generous with all of her goodies...

I had finished decking my home for the holidays and took these pictures.
This is the table on the porch right near our door.

The wreath hanging on the light is from my dear friend, Betsy.

Other little vignettes in the house.

This rag doll I purchased at a rummage sale back in the fall, with a project/gift in mind.

This is the same doll.

Several months ago my friend Besty gifted me with some vintage baby clothes, you can see that post here
I knew just what I was going to do with one of the pieces.

I used a pink suit for the shirt, vintage doily for the skirt, crocheted scarf (i can crochet a little bit) and a pink baby hat.

Betsy loved the doll.

I do believe I am now caught up on what I wanted to share with you.
There were a few other holiday swaps but I get to excited when finishing up,  I forget to take pictures, I will be better about that in 2013.
Thanks for stopping by.

BIRTHDAY PARTY IN WINTER WONDERLAND

Sorry I have been away from my blog for awhile, computer problems and the holidays have kept me busy.
If you follow my blog you know we were preparing to celebrate our Granddaughter's 1st Birthday in New York.
I was preparing for this event for a few months.  You can see those posts here and here.
The weekend finally arrived, what a great time we all had....Family and special family friends,  making precious memories together.
Here are the decorations I made and/or altered for my Lil O and her special day.

One of three winter glass globes I created for the party, then I gifted them to my three favorite gals; Deserie, Ashley and my Figgy.

This is my beautiful Lil O.
Her Birthday photographs.

MORE WINTER WONDERLAND BIRTHDAY PARTY GOODIES

Let me just say, if you don't like blue turn back now!!
I've been busy creating for my Lil O's 1st birthday party, the theme is Winter Wonderland and Woodland Animals.
You can see another post here

I made bird nests using floral straw, spray painted white, spray painted adhesive then sprinkled with blue and silver fine glitter, the pictures really do not capture the colors, too sparkly...

I glittered the tops of acorns and actually used silver and blue Styrofoam balls as the acorns, I found these at Michael's.
Remember when I said there were no acorns around here to be found?
I did manage to find some tops I had around my home.

I spray painted the pine cones white and glittered.

These squirrels I found at Creative Habitat for half off, they were fall items and were brown.
I spray painted white and glittered with silver, these are so darling.

The party is coming right up.  I may have one more post with some items but if not I will be sure to take lots of pictures of the decorations and share with you all soon.
Thanks for stopping by.

CHRISTMAS IN A TEA CUP

I purchased this pink tea cup and saucer several months ago when I first signed up for "A Christmas In A Tea Cup" swap over at Bliss Angels Swap Group.

As you all know I love birds, dried roses and bird nests.

This angel I purchased at a barn sale awhile ago.

The wooden bird I painted with pink glitter paint, don't you just love her hat?

I filled the tea cup with floral hay and moss along with some tiny pine cones.

I really love the way this piece came together.

Maybe you will be inspired to create something in a tea cup, go ahead-give it a try.
Thanks for stopping by.
